Kyle For Camden

Kyle Irwin is a lifelong resident of Camden County. He is the son of another lifelong resident of the county in his father Edward and a first generation Mexican-American through his mother Rocio. He resides in Collingswood, the town in which he has now spent the majority of his life; he has also spent considerable amounts of time in Woodlynne and Haddon Township.

Local Roots

Being a resident of the county in general led him to go to and graduate from Camden County Technical School in Sicklerville. There he attained a High School diploma that included a certification in Video Production in 2013. After attaining his Associate’s Degree in History from Camden County College in 2015, he worked various jobs such as substitute teaching before deciding to continue his education. He decided to continue his academic endeavors in 2020 at Rowan University, focusing on history once more.

Giving Back

Kyle believes that the study of history should be conducted for the purpose of utilizing that past to best prepare for the future. Building off this, he felt inspired to find a way to become more involved in activism and politics due to the events of that tumultuous year. While attaining his Bachelor’s he was politically and socially active by assisting in the campaign of Congressional hopeful Mario DeSantis and through his involvement in the Rowan Progressives Club on campus. After attaining his Bachelor’s in History 2023 he remained at Rowan to complete the Master’s program in History with a focus on Latin American studies. He remains dedicated to political and social actions by continuing to work with the Rowan Progressives club and takes the lead in their efforts related to electoral politics.
